Aims
- Exchange of experiences with experts
- Becoming acquainted with the education systems of other European countries
- Discussions and exchange of innovative ideas and best practice examples in educational topics

Methods
- Presentations, reports, discussions, rounds of talks
- Visits to educational institutions, ministries, training institutions, career counselling centres, universities, etc.
Composition of the Groups
A group consists of 10-15 people. The participants have different occupational backgrounds and come from different European countries.
Working Language
Participants should speak the working language of the group in the study visit well enough to be able to take part in discussions actively. The most frequently chosen languages for these study visits are English, German, French and Spanish.
Duration
A study visit lasts between three and five days and takes place in one of the 31 countries participating in the Lifelong Learning programme: the 27 EU member countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey.
How to Apply
- You apply as a representative of an institution of the education sector.
- Study visits for the academic year 2012/13 will be published in the study visits catalogue in February 2012. This will first be available online and, as from mid-February 2012, also in print version.
- The application deadlines for the winter semester 2012/13 is from February 1st until March 31st and for the summer semester 2013 is from July until October 12th 2012. Further information you find on the Cedefop Website.

The topics of the study visits are connected with the programme Programme General and Vocational Education and Training 2010.

- You have not received any financial support so far
- You represent a social partner institution
- You present a good concept of how you want to implement and continue the results of the study visit
Selection and Funding
In a selection procedure, which will take into account the above-mentioned categories, the nominated participants will receive a travel and living costs subsidy. The grant depends on the duration of the visit and the target country. The maximum grant amount is revised every year. In 2009 it was 1,382 euros/study visit.
